Katherine Morgan, CSBA, LEED AP O+M, BOC-II, our principal and friend, has passed away.

From her early days as an energy conservation manager working with utilities, through her Building Operator Certification (BOC) training sessions, to her green building consulting work with us at ArchEcology, Katherine was a dedicated and passionate advocate for sustainability in the built environment. Her contributions to the field and to our firm were, and are, enormous.

Her commitment to the efficient operation of existing buildings as an asset, as a mitigator of impact on the environment, and as the measure of quality and comfort that occupants and users deserve never wavered. Most recently, she created tools and resources to understand and engage with the new WA CBPS and BEPS legislation that will serve us all well.

We take a deep breath and a moment to celebrate her life. And then, we move forward with renewed commitment to the goal we shared - to make sustainability make sense - to everyone.

Katherine Morgan will be sorely missed.
